Physical Design
At first glance, one would immediately realize that the TG01 is much bigger than most average Smartphones. This is because of its extremely large high resolution TFT resistive touch screen display that measures an astounding 4.1 inches. Although it may be one of the widest mobiles around, the TG01 also happens to be one of the thinnest. It has a super-slim 9.9 mm design (thickness) that is able to compensate for its oversized screen. The final measurements of the TG01 are 129 x 70 x 9.9 mm and it weighs 129 grams.
Performance

Not only does this high end processing platform deliver power and performance, but it is also known for its low power consumption. The Snapdragon allows users to do simultaneous multi-tasking and also provides high resolution video outputs.
The processor will run in tandem with the latest Microsoft mobile operating system in the form of Windows Mobile 6.1. WinMo is a big player in the mobile OS arena as it allows users to enjoy multimedia at its best. This also means that the TG01 will come complete with Pocket Office (for Microsoft Office support) and Outlook Mobile (direct integration with PC-based email accounts via syncing).
Toshiba has also installed their custom-designed 3D interface on the TG01 that provides one-touch navigation throughout the entire menu.
Mobile Multimedia
Toshiba made certain that the 4.1-inch screen is put to good use by making sure that users are able to have a full and vivid multimedia experience on the TG01. This includes features such as wide VGA for optimum rendering of videos, colour image control, LCD backlight control, colour matching, and dynamic gamma correction. Although all these features may sound a bit too technical, they are all there to guarantee optimum portable video viewing experience.
